Hi, my name is Josh I’m 43. Been surfing since I was 15. 5’6 145 lbs.
My favorite and regular go to suit is your hoplite back zip ms 3/2 wetsuit. Love it. And will get another when this one dies.
I'm really appreciate the fit, feel and quality, and craftsmanship. As you know I bought a ms 4/3 hooded tumo. It is a beautifully made suit. When I tried it on at home, something did feel off in the armpits, especially the right top peck. but I was also hoping that it wasn’t gonna be an issue in the water. Boy was i wrong. Some of the worst rashes I’ve gotten from a wetsuit ever. And that was with Vaseline applied. For my body, the zipper placement where it’s sown Is just in the wrong spot, at least for my body. It bunches and rubs when paddling.
Coming from my 4/3 flashbomb which is also a chest zip it doesn’t bunch or irritate me at all. This morning I wanted to give it another go this time with a rash guard and Vaseline. It was a little better but unfortunately, it is just very very uncomfortable.
I will say it’s very warm. And in all other parts of the body the suit touches is very comfortable. But as you know, it should be the most comfortable in armpits since we paddle so much. I know that you guys put a lot of care into your suits. You can tell when you look at them. Unfortunately, this is not the magic suit for me and my journey to find the perfect suit will continue elsewhere. I’ll give it another week of sessions before we part ways though. Fingers crossed it just needs more break-in time.
Nonetheless all the best to your team
These suits keep me warmer than others I have tried. When you get the right fit you will be comfortable in conditions that are too cold for other suits. I use mine for swimming.
