OUR MISSION

Since 2006, Matuse has pursued one idea: to make products and
experiences Ichiban aka the best. Ichiban is not a trophy we claim. It
is a standard we pursue.

Our mission is to create purpose-driven products where Art + Function
work as one—solving real problems through thoughtful design,
progressive materials, and a relentless process of questioning, testing,
and refining.

We believe better products begin with better decisions. Every material,
construction method, and detail should serve a purpose. We don’t
innovate for the sake of novelty. We look for meaningful solutions that
improve performance, comfort, durability, and the experience of using
the product.

That same thinking shapes our approach to environmental
responsibility. Sustainability is not a single material, certification, or
claim. It is an ongoing responsibility to make considered choices,
explore better solutions as they become available, reduce
unnecessary impact, build products to last, and extend their useful life
whenever possible.

Our mark reflects that philosophy. Derived from ancient Taoist
symbolism, three solid lines represent Heaven, three broken lines for
Earth, and one circle represents the continuous pursuit of the Ichiban
aka always aspiring to perfection and a reminder that the
Stay curious, keep learning, and enjoy!
