For 20 years I’ve used a wide range of different brand wetsuits surfing in the winter here in Rhode Island. For the past two years, I’ve used the Tumo 5/4. The first thing I noticed compared to all of her wetsuits I’ve had is the weight the suit doesn’t have a liner, those fuzzy things that feel great in the store, but add a ton of weight when they hold water while you’re surfing, the suit is incredibly warm but as light as other 4/3 suits I have. It also dries incredibly quickly. I can hang it up for a few hours, and it will drip dry to a reasonable level for a second session, and overnight it’s basically completely dry finally, the quality of the build. The pictures I uploaded show my newer Sutton on the left and the one I’ve now had for two years on the right Aside from a few minor nicks and cuts on the same tape, even the two year-old suit is basically dry, with just a very minor amount of seepage. I’m surfing 50 to 100 days a year in the suits, and I’ve never had a suit last more than one season before I basically couldn’t use it because it was too leaky. My 2 year old Tumo is still in rotation, and I often have difficulty telling the difference between my newer one that I bought after the first season and the one that’s two years old. I highly recommend these suits and at this point they’re the only ones I want to wear.
