The Matuse Hermes amphibious bag takes its name from the ancient Greek Olympian deity Hermes, the herald of gods and protector of travelers.
Aided by his winged sandals, Hermes moved freely between the worlds of the mortal and the divine. During his travels he would undoubtedly carry a bag he trusted with his most prized possessions. Much like Hermes, you too can travel with ease and freedom through the divine and beyond with this godly duffel.
This Hermes was designed to pack your surf and sporting equipment for trips to the beach, mountains, and beyond. If you play a bit harder like us, you might get some sand or dirt in there—no biggie, simply hose down the inside, wipe with a dry towel, and you're good to go.
The Hermes is also recommended as your go-to 45-liter carry-on, and can safely store personal items in its double-sided pouches and internal large cargo closed pouch when going through security on your way to the gate.
If that wasn't enough to get you excited, our Hermes is made with a waterproof TPU to shield your treasured items from rain, or snow. We don't suggest using the Hermes as a 100% waterproof bag as we do not use a waterproof zipper, but a little rain or water won't hurt it one bit.

• Durable, water-resistant TPU fabric: 100% abrasion resistant fabric that can endure tough conditions. NOTE: the bag is made with waterproof material, but the YKK large chain zipper is not waterproof so heavy water conditions are not recommended. The bag can handle light rain and splashes, but prolonged exposure to heavy rain, or submersion can get your internal gear wet. (External side pockets are waterproof).
• Carry-on size duffel: This carry-on 45L duffel meets most airline and train requirements to keep your bag with you, and, because of its malleable structure, it’s easier to store in tighter places when full.
• Full access main compartment: Large opening main compartment makes organizing gear or clothing easy.
• Splash-proof side pockets: Two large side pockets with splash-proof zippers keep your external storage safe and are large enough to fit a full-sized phone.
• Large internal zippered compartment: Store items that you need quick access to, or stow away your shoulder straps when not in use.
• External Daisy Chains: Clip on anything you want quick access to. Water bottle, surf boots, climbing boots, or a hat—it’s no problem.
• Removable shoulder straps: When your bag is loaded up for the long haul and you need that extra hand, attach the shoulder straps for hands-free hauling.
• Care instructions: Hand wash, air dry, do not iron.
