BUILD: GLUED + SATIN SEAL TAPING

MATERIAL: GEOPRENE BY YAMAMOTO

TEMP RANGE: 54 - 59F / 12 - 15C

The Tumo is named after the Buddhist meditation technique where monks sit naked in snow under a wet blanket, drying it out with their own body heat. Now that’s warm. So jump into the coldest environments, because the Tumo hooded wetsuit has you covered--even if you don't meditate.

At Matuse, we strive to make products and experiences Ichiban aka the best. We design for longevity and performance and take this responsibility seriously. In 2006, we were the first to introduce premium Japanese limestone rubber to the surf market from Yamamoto Corporation called Geoprene. Matuse Limestone Geoprene is a completely closed cell structure, absorbing less water (98% water impermeable) which means it's lighter in and out of the water and takes less time to dry for your next session. This innovative material is layered with titanium-alloy solution to help retain your body's warmth and has the ability to stretch 350% its size while maintaining superb elastic memory aka the flexibility you need without losing shape. The combination of these features makes Geoprene the longest lasting wetsuit you will find in the world: warmer, lighter, more flexible and kinder to Mother Nature.

The Tumo with Geoprene allows you to focus on the right issues (like better surfing), and fuss less over the wrong ones (like being cold and uncomfortable). A premium Ichiban Matuse will get you out of bed in the morning aka more excuses to surf and less excuses not to.

Easy exchange

I ordered a Tumo 4/3 chest zip online but it fit too tight. I wasn’t sure how much it would loosen up so I called the warehouse and asked to speak with someone who could advise on this. I spoke with Alex who took the time to give me his thoughts and recommendations on sizing. He told me to come in and I could try on another size. I found a better fit and was able to exchange my original order without any hassle. I even used this opportunity to bring in an older Scipio for repair. I have been wearing Matuse wetsuits exclusively for many years and they are by far the best quality suits out there. Your customer care I just experienced is another reason I will remain a loyal customer! Oh, and I've worn my new Tumo several times and I love it!

Best suit

Movement is great. Had a Dante before and defiantly think the tumo was worth the extra bucks. Warmer and dries faster.

I've had this suit for 6 years and its still water tight and warm as hell

This suit is worth every penny. I've had this suit for 6 years and I still wear it in the dead of winter (So-cal Winter). It's still watertight and the seams are ALL still smooth. Sometimes, the tape used on seams starts to crack around year 3 or 4 but every one of these seams is totally intact. If you do the math, sure, you could buy a budget suit every other year(at best, they might last that long) for $175 and spend $550 over 6 years OR, you could just spend a little money now, have an incredibly comfortable suit for 6 or more years and not have to fuss with breaking in a new suit all the time. Take care of this suit. I rinse mine thoroughly every time I use it. Most times I shower with it on and really make sure there is not a drop of salt water left in it. It doesn't make sense to spend this amount of money on an incredible product and not take care of it. It'll last a long time if you just take care of it. After 6 years there is a little fraying on the sleeves and ankles. I'm pretty sure it's got at least another couple of seasons in it. Lastly, this suit dries SO FAST. I don't know what the hell is going on with it but the next morning, I can grab it out of the shower and it's ready to go. I HATE wet wetsuits, hence the reason I have 2 Tumo's, A scipio and 5 Dante's but I could wear this suit every day it dries so fast.
