It’s really great. This is my second one.
One thing though, why did you take off the grid the red color trunks version?

Fantastic Swim suit

This is the best swimsuit I have used for surfing. I wanted to wait a bit before I wrote a review and so far I've done about a dozen sessions and have no complaints! It dries incredibly fast and the material is very nice quality as well as durable. I tend to usually get leg rash when board shorting it while surfing but the length is prefect for leaving your legs protected. I did think the price was a bit steep but after using it a couple times that price made sense. It is a fantastic swim suit. Not to mention the team at Matuse is very professional and quick to help / respond. I have only positive things to say about this company and wish them best as they continue to grow.

Performance Perfect, Durability Questions

Wore these trunks for 6 days in Mexico, rinsing with freshwater at least once throughout the day (never entered a washing machine or dryer). The fit and pattern of these shorts is near PERFECT for surfing. Movement is completely uninhibited by the way the waist locks in and allows your hips and legs to be unrestricted. I assume these are Nylon Elastane as they do not soak up nearly as much water as other shorts leaving you light and fast in the water just like the closed cell neoprene. Their quick drying ability is also superior to other shorts.

One thing I did not understand upon receiving these shorts was the need for a running gusset along the inseam with a turned overlock stitch of sorts. There are still rub points created by this that I personally would have liked to see a pattern which wraps the inner thigh with a higher consumption and price. I would happily pay for that. To this point though and to be fair, I really haven't had too much of an issue here yet.

Unfortunately... The bottom edge hem (which is bonded) is unfortunately coming undone already, way too soon. Clearly this is a spot that I am grateful for bonding but I wish this wasn't the case as I doubt these will not make it through summer. It is important to me that these shorts perform but more important they last a long time. These are replacing a pair of Patagonia shorts which I bought about 8 years ago, I have repaired the pocket lining on those and will most likely be back in those if these undo.

Overall I am happy I bought these shorts (unless they really start to degrade more). I respect the brand in full and understand decisions made on certain aspects of this product come with consideration I am not fully privy to but am sure they exist. I do feel that these should result in 3 stars with the way the bottom bonding is undone but I cannot deny how perfect the fabrication and pattern are. For that I am giving them 4 as I love the care Matuse puts into their product and wanted to provide feedback.

Bring back the original Neptune Boardshort

Tried the new Neptune Pro and it's not the same, feels cheaper than the original (thinner nylon and low quality zippers and eyelets). The Swiss Schoeller nylon used on the earlier trunks was way better and worth the price. Not sure what happened there.
