Called Itaka in Japan. Known as the Alaia in Hawaii. This Matuse x Jon Wegener co-lab is the ichiban blue ribbon model of surfing’s ancient finless board. Clean lines and a natural finish. The oil seal on the wood makes things move. Matuse and Wegner marks burned onto the tail. art + function pumpin’ through its veins. Like owning Dylan’s Blonde on Blonde, this is a mandatory addition.

Of all the Alaia's Jon makes this is my favorite. Great for all conditions and maneuvers.

The board is made entirely from Paulownia Wood. This wood is water resistant, light weight, has great flex properties and only requires a linseed oil coating. No resin, fiberglass or varnish is required to finish the board.
6'6" x 16.5" x 13/16"
Allows the board to turn easily while also being able to hold it's rail in the face of the wave.
This increases the speed of the board and helps the board to stick to the face of the wave.
This gives the board a little extra flex in the tail allowing the board to fit into tighter, steeper sections of the wave.
The Matuse and Wegener logos are branded in the center near the tail. The Matuse Heaven & Earth nicely compliments Wegeners rising sun.
